Albert O’Connor
A graduate of the University of Waterloo with a BMath in Computer Science with a Pure Math minor.
I currently work at Inscriber in Uptown Waterloo. Over the last few years Inscriber has changed hands, first being bought by Leitch moving from private to public hands, and then Leitch was acquired by Harris. So really I now work for Harris.
When working I like to program with Python but I often end up doing stuff with C++ and C#.
On the side my most expensive hobby is DJing. I am very happy mixing with Serato and my Rane TTM 56 Mixer and a set of 1200s. Over the years I have spun top 40, house, hip hop, and alternative.
When I was at school tended to keep busy doing things like running a club for people interested in DJing, sometimes helping out with MathSoc, occasionally writing for mathNEWS, and even being a Senator for no adequately explained reason.

- DJing - My most expensive and longest lasting hobby.
- Kung-fu - The most pervasive activity. Something I should do more of.

- Curling - The token sport I like to play and watch.
- Bodhran - The Irish drum. I decide I should learn a rhythm instrument.
Reading
Though I am not terribly well read, I do read some webpages.

Things I am reading now
- CSS2 Specification - I am trying to understand the power of CSS. I was inspired by this story about redoing slashdot and a HTML weenie.

- PuTTY - A free Win32 Telnet/SSH client.
- Firefox - As the mozilla moves from bloat to a bunch of distinct apps, their brower technology preview Firefox leads the way. Hopefully this is the name they keep.
- VirtuaWin 2.5 - Everyone need multiple desktops, even windows users.
- Tiny Apps - Some of the smallest and most useful programs. Including good image viewer and text editors.
- Winamp - I still use winamp to listen to music when I am in win32, I even use it to help me DJ.
- Gaim - A pretty good multi IM system client. I especially like the debian install that includes a while you write spell checker.
