Throughout my brief time as a DJ I have already went through a bit of equipment. This page discusses my current set up and note some other devices I technically own. The list is structure is the form of sources of singles to the end reciever of the singles.
- Technics SL-1200mk2 Turntable -- the king of the turntables. For the last 20 years this table has been the rather pricey stander for real DJ turntables. This is for good reason because the table has exceptionally high torque and keeps it pitch rock solid for easy of beatmatching.
- Computer -- a celeron 333MMX chip running a system with 256MB of memory, 10 GB of harddisk space, two soundcards (DMAN 2044 and Sound Blaster Live! Platnum 5.1) as my audio sources. I use Wimamp and pitchfork presently for my DJing and pitch blending.
- Vestax PMC-15mkII Mixer -- a dynamic four channel mixer having a 3 band EQ for all four channels (but not pan control for all four, too bad you can't get everything). Each channel strip is two channel witch represent 8 total inputs. The cross fader is Opi-coupled to the rest of the circutry as I understand it.
- Yamaha Receiver -- Simple and black and makes things louder, all I really want.
- JBL Speakers --These speakers seem to work well enough producing enough noise for me and are pretty slick looking two
- Subwoofer -- This really isn't the best sub I could have bought. I was a bit pressured into buying it, but it is at least quasi funcational.
