Technical Knowledge

intro

It could be said my biggest interest in DJing is the technical side. In my enjoyment of music and sound there is always a large technical side i explore. Throughout the years I gather practical and not so practical expereince in general areas of audio technology. For not so complete a list of the equipment I have used etc go here.

djing

• mixer board mantience (cleaning, and fix it when strange thing happen especially when you are setting up for a gig)
• patching (just look at my layout for my video dance

pa

• PA mixers (how they work, how to use them, work with a few in my time)
• microphones (different types, micing instruments)
• patching (snakes, aux, etc.)

computers

• configuration/mantience (i lived with them all my life)
• software (familure with many operating systems and the audio capabilities of most)
• sound cards (ran two at the same on my computer one of which was 4-in 4-out so it was acting and two sounds cards as well... trust me it takes a bit of skill)
• programming (dsp, Directx, Java Sound, MMsystem I have a some experience in all)

recording

• multi-track recording (live instruments complete with over dubing)
• DJ performace (myself various times, to make 2 mix CDs with a professional touch)

respect

So many time I heard about people coming and using a system and leaving in disrepair when they leave. From my high school's sound system to the bomber's system in both cases the managers have said they don't like people messing around with their stuff because of these careless few. In my personal setup I like a lot of custimization, but I alway make sure I return the system to it former state. For me it is a priorty alway, as I have a fairly strong understand of everything I am dealing with I rarely have any problem, nor have I heard any complaints.

conclusion

As you can see I have a large variety of potientatially useful skill. Beyond that I am (usually) very energic and hard working. I would be interested in getting involved in set-up and take down of party when required. In all my previous experience I always have done my own setup and take down.
